We offer 4 generations of CoolTouch® controllers with standard Reference Design Kits for rapid prototyping with optimized firmware to address different application requirements in the most stringent market segments.

 

Capacitive Touch Panels

Through our established and strong network of world class touch panel manufacturing partners, we are able to assist our customers throughout the complete development process of Projected CAPacitive (P-CAP) Touch Panels. We offer our expertise for

  • Design and optimization of diamond shaped pixel patterns
  • Selection of most appropriate P-CAP sensor stacks: Glass-Glass (GG), Glass-Film (GF2), and One-Glass-Sensor (OGS)
  • Variety of P-CAP sensor material: Silver Nano-Wire (SNW), Indium-Tin-Oxide (ITO) and Metal-Mesh (MM)
  • Custom Cover Glass coating options: Anti-Reflection (AR), Anti-Glare (AG), Anti-Smudge (AS)

      Gen1 CoolTouch® family: The standard touch

      It is our standard entry level controller generation combining the CTS30x family as a single chip solution and the CTS10x family as a multi-chip solution. It is dedicated for small and medium size Touch Panels (7” to 27”) and features:

      • Multi-touch and palm rejection functionality. Up to 10-touch and windows WHLK compliant.
      • Efficient and highly optimized detection and processing algorithms utilize our proprietary CoolTouch™ Coprocessing unit to achieve higher report rates with reduced latency and smooth performance.
      • Standard EMC and noise immunity algorithms for reliable performance under external coupled noise for home-appliance specification (CDT, EFT, and ESD).
      • The embedded water and liquid immunity features ensure the necessary level of protection against false events reporting in presence of water.

        Gen1 CoolTouch® family: The standard touch

          Gen2 CoolTouch® family: The objects recognition

          It is our high-performance generation with the CTS12x multichip family. It is dedicated for large to extra-large size Touch Panels (32” to 84”) and featuring:

          • Multi-touch detection and tracking up to 64 unique touch and 128 non-touch region detection and tracking. Gen1 retro compatibility.
          • Highly optimized and powerful platform. Its features efficient detection, classification and tracking algorithms implemented on a powerful next generation DSP controller capable of processing more than 200 image fps with minimum latency.
          • Gen2 is a Tactors® enabled platform. By using advanced and highly efficient machine learning techniques for objects detection and patterns recognition and tracking, we enabled our second-generation platform to process multiple presence of Tactors. It allows the detection of more than 128 region of interest for multiple families of Tactors®.

            Gen3 CoolTouch® family: The active pen solution

            It is our unique high-performance controller generation combining the CTS33x family for single chip solution and the CTS13x family for multi-chip solution. It is dedicated for small and large size touch Panels (7” to 84”) with active pen requirements and featuring:

            • Active Pen sensor data processing unit at very high frame rates (>135 fps) for seamless and natural feeling. The Frame rate processing is extendable up to 200 fps.
            • Advanced adaptive machine learning pen localization and tracking for sub-pixel super-resolution (<0.6mm) outperforming Microsoft requirements for small screen tables on a very large screen (55”).
            • Same-frame, zero-lag communication line for reporting active Pen parameters (1024 pressure level, click , erase reports).
            • Compatible with MPP and USI Protocols.

                Gen4 CoolTouch® family: The rugged touch

                Our Gen4 platform is dedicated for industrial applications. It includes the CTS34x family for single chip solution and the CTS14x family for multi-chip solution, offering a complete coverage of all screen sizes from 7” up to 84”.

                • Dedicated noise sensing mode and full sensor health monitoring, which enables having dedicated noise detection algorithms for each EMC scenarios with different levels. This enables to reach level of immunity >15Vrms over 80MHz for CDT and Class A performance of EFT +/4 KV to name a few.
                • Highly robust water and liquid level of immunity thanks to using dedicated self-capacitance sensing mode measurements.
                • Adaptive real-time sensor monitoring, and reconfiguration required for a guaranteed reliable performance in very harsh environments.
                • Adaptive selective scan and refresh of regions of interest for industrial demands of either high power efficiency or very high refresh rates.
