CoolTouch™ in the PC industry
Since 2011 Advanced Silicon pioneered with top tier PC manufacturers and OEMs paving the way for visionary and innovative Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) in the Personal Computer (PC) industry.
We enabled the achievement of the great Smart Desks concept through a very close collaboration with the PC OEMs on our CoolWheel dials and our active CoolPEN technologies. The idea of Interactive Objects on Touch Screens (Tactors®) was born.

CoolTouch™ in the Gaming industry
We provide a large choice of touch IC platforms tailored for a wide range of touch screens in the gaming industry. Our CoolTouch™ chipsets are particularly suitable for casino gaming slot machines with complex button decks and large curved displays.
Through Gen1 to Gen4, our CoolTouch™ solutions are capable of driving and sensing TFT-LCD and OLED touch screens with various shapes, such as C and J shapes, mostly used as head up displays in gaming machines.
For button decks, our CoolTouch™ solutions combine simultaneous finger touch and Tactors® enabled capabilities allowing the detection of advanced touch functions and transparent Touch Buttons on Glass; The CoolClick.
The advantage of the Coolclick technology is its hole free capability avoiding the induced weakness of a mechanical hole in the glass needed for classic buttons. It is bonded on the glass as a Tactor® and the click function is detected as a simple touch event.
CoolTouch™ in the Avionic and Marine industries
Using our CoolTouch™ chipset we offer a rugged touch solution coping with the most stringent EMC requirements of avionic and marine industries. Beyond its outperforming EMC requirements, our Gen4 with a hybrid Tactors® touch function enable user interactions without loss of focus on critical operations thanks to the HMI mechanical references.
We define the hybrid Tactors® touch concept as a Tactors® HMI panel supporting dummy passive components, such as knobs and soft keys, detectable by a touch screen in parallel with and in the same manner as a finger touch.
The hybrid Tactors® touch enables a tremendous cost saving in the Bill of Material of cockpit displays with touch functionality. The configurability of the Tactors® provides a highly flexible and interoperable HMI solution between different application functions with a unique touch screen model.
