Advanced Silicon offers a complete platform solution to manufacturers of multi-function inkjet products. The platform consists of three chips - a SoC printer controller, a power combo chip and a print head driver - which enable all digital and power operations performed in a printer. The SoC handles the image processing tasks and controls related features like printing, photo printing, scanning, copying and interfacing with numerous peripheral devices. The power combo and the head driver chips manage the system's power supplies and drive the various motors and the inkjet print head.

The three ICs that make-up the platform are fully compatible with each other and can be programmed by firmware and software to deploy various features throughout an entire line of printing devices, ranging from simple printers to complex multi-function peripherals. Owing to the high level of silicon integration achieved for each of the three chips (which translates into small footprints) and to their inter-compatibility (requiring a minimum amount of external components) the resulting printing system is particularly cost-effective and compact.

To simplify the design cycle and shorten the time-to-market, a collection of development tools and reference designs is available. A group of specialized engineers offers comprehensive support for all aspects of the system development whether related to the digital core or to the analog and power blocks. Furthermore tailor-made solutions for specific applications can be developed; in particular the print head driver can be re-designed according to the specifications of each OEM.
