Display system-on-chips (SoCs)Advanced Silicon, in close collaboration with panel manufacturers, develops new system-on-chips that integrate several - or all - of the circuits necessary for the control of TFT displays.
A typical SoC for small panels includes the source and gate drivers, the timing controller and the high-voltage blocks that supply the common electrode and external backlight. To serve a broader range of applications, some SoC parameters are configurable, for example the format of the input data (e.g. CCIR-656, RGB, YUV or YCbCr) or the vertical resolution (to match PAL or NTSC video signals).
Advanced Silicon's latest family of SoCs offers more digital flexibility such as data re-sampling for fitting the image to screens with different vertical or horizontal resolutions, on-screen-display (OSD), zoom mode, adjustment of contrast/brightness and hue/saturation, and so on. The chip versatility is also increased thanks to new analog or high-voltage features, e.g adjustable gamma correction levels, programmable common electrode voltage or programmable backlight current level.
The table below gives an overview of Advanced Silicon's products, many of which are ASICs developed for specific panels. We encourage you to contact us if your display needs a similar one-chip solution. We will be pleased to make you an offer for a custom development!
